- PM Narendra Modi
In India we celebrate the commonality of major differences; we are a land of belonging than of blood.
– Dr Shashi Tharoor.
My Country My Pride ... India is a land of diverse culture, astonishing traditions and heritage. The land where cultures and thoughts intermingle to provide an altogether new way of living to the people. Since being a home to people from different cultures, the citizens have learned how to respect the various cultures and traditions.
India-the only country in the world where you shall find a Hindu temple, a church and a mosque adjoining each other and followers of any of them visiting each. This is the best part of the underlying Indian thought –tolerance and respect for everyone. So whatever be your culture, beliefs, religious practice, India surely is one home.
The land of great cultural heritage and enriched traditions. The influence of various cultures on each other is evident from the architecture styles, language as well as the practices in various parts of the country. This innate mixture of features of various cultures and traditions gives India the place and the reputation of being the most tolerant and patient country in the world.
The diversity in India is unique. Being a large country with large population presenting endless varieties of physical features and cultural patterns. It is the land of many languages it is only here that people professes all the major religions of the world.
"Social Fabric" is the glue which holds a society together. It is the bond that people share, it can help form a culturally rich and socially cohesive community.
As the father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi quoted; I believe in the fundamental truth of all great religions of the world. I believe that they are all God- given and I believe that they were necessary for the people to whom these religions were revealed. And I believe that if only we could all of us read the scriptures of the different faiths from the standpoints of the followers of these faiths, we should find that they were at bottom all one and were all helpful to one another.
India is famous for its unity in diversity pledge... We have to celebrate our diversity and learn to debate our differences without fracturing our communities.
It's the responsibility and duty of each and every one of us to protect our rights and dignity which are guaranteed under the Constitution, We have to raise our clenched fist in solidarity with the voices of the deprived and marginalised sections. Their voices should also be heard louder in the time of massive socio-economic and political distress.
The fabric of democracy in a diverse nation is very fragile; safeguarding it is our supreme duty.
Let's celebrate our nation our pride !
